Zero Exhibition

Imagine a group of creatives in post-war Germany in the 1950’s. Young and ready for new beginnings, they yearn for a movement of change and possibilities – and so the ‘Zero’ artist group was born. Founded in Düsseldorf by Heinz Mack and Otto Piene. Piene described it as “a zone of silence and of pure possibilities for a new beginning.” Challenging the traditional art establishment of the time, ZERO celebrates collaborative creation, found materials, and sensory experience.

For the first time in Australia, MONA (Tasmania’s Museum of Old and New Art) will be showcasing some of the key international figures of the movement. Expect an immersive experience that will engage all senses, and explore an important aspect of the ZERO philosophy: vibration 09 June 2018 – 22 April 2019

Written in 2015 by American novelist Hanya Yanagihara, A Little Life follows the narrative of four friends living in New York from late-teenage years in college through to middle age. Written in a relatively short time (eighteen months), the novel delves into some dark and difficult subject matter and quickly become a bestseller.

Beginning as a chronological narrative with intermittent flashbacks from the four main characters, the focus slowly shifts perspectives and eventually settles on the main protagonist: Jude. A victim of sexual, physical, and psychological abuse as an adolescent, Jude’s past continues to haunt him as he enters adulthood. A gripping and heart wrenching story, this novel will pull you in and consume you.

To describe Lune as a bakery falls terribly short of their incredible craft. Masters and creatives in their own right, Lune has been creating exquisite pastries since they opened their Fitzroy location in 2015.

With the croissant as their entire focus, owners Kate and Cam describe Lune as ‘a celebration of the creation, complexity and ultimate enjoyment of a croissant’

There are two main offerings. The first is the main service counter where you may order a pastry that is delivered to you within moment – fresh out of the oven. Or you can opt for the more indulgent experience. Book and pre-pay online, and you can sit at one of the nine stools at the Lune Lab. With one sitting day, the experience involves three courses of pastries with bottomless coffee – yum!

Lune has now opened a second lab in Melbourne CBD (Shop 16, 161 Collins Street). Croissants for lunch anyone?
